The Star of the Mist
GM: Jan Paul
Description
Rumours of strange things happening outside the borders of civilised lands are spreading with increased regularity and, while they are dismissed by most as fireside-tales and cildren´s stories, they sometimes reach the ears of individuals who recognise the sinister truth they hide. Some brave adventurers follow their callings and seek the truth behind peculiar reports about the "Star of the Mist", an eerie blue-ish light that shines at night from the foothills of the southern Ered Luin...

Additional Information
"The Star of the Mist" is the adventure that comes with The One Ring 2nd edition rulebook and is located at the southern Ered Luin, also known as the Blue Mountains, of Eriador, Middle-earth. Everything is set in the year 2965 of the Third Age, i.e. Bilbo´s great adventure ("The Hobbit") was accomplished less than 25 years before, and the Shadow is returning... and while the Shadow grows darker, The Fellowship of The Ring has not yet formed.
Rumours of strange things happening outside the borders of civilised lands are spreading with increased regularity and, while they are dismissed by most as fireside-tales and cildren´s stories, they sometimes reach the ears of individuals who recognise the sinister truth they hide.
It is before this backdrop that some brave adventurers follow their callings and seek the truth behind peculiar reports about the "Star of the Mist", an eerie blue-ish light that shines at night from the foothills of the southern Ered Luin...
The adventurers likely meet in the Prancing Pony in Bree (of course!), deciding to form a fellowship for whatever challenges and encounters lie ahead - from traveling the dark-reputed Greenway; the ruins of a once fortified town in the foothills southern Ered Luin (that lies in what was the kingdom of Arthedain); an abandoned dwarven city; a cursed fortress; ... when they prevail, they are hailed as heroes, but when they fail - no one will remember their names!
The One Ring 2nd edition is out only since some years and the rules and system are rather new to me, but I am thoroughly prepared to act as the interface between the player-heros and Middle-earth, creating the feeling that we are taking part in the unfolding events composing the Twilight of the Third Age. I´ll bring some pre-gen characters along,
- Geira, daugther of Gautarr (Barding)
- Regin Stonefist (Dwarf of Durin’s Folk (male))
- Fimbrethil of the Havens (Elf of Lindon (female))
- Artie Wayward (Man of Bree)
- Mentha North-tooks (Hobbit of the Shire)
- Duinhir “Eaglenose” (Ranger of the North)
but feel free to bring your own character (e.g. by using https://www.oneringmatch.com/index.html). You can also use your own set of regular dice you use for games, i.e. two 12-sided dice and six 6-sided dice. If you have some miniatures that resemble your character, bandits, undead as wells dwarf, please bring some, since I only started a collection. And here´s an atmospheric trailer to The One Ring 2e: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxi9o3FJQdY Looking forward to some epic 4 hours of adventuring in Middle-Earth with you.
Jan!
